How dare we be optimistic?

This is the title of Al Gore's recent (March) talk at TED. His theme was that each of us has to embrace the crisis/opportunity of climate change, and we dare to be optimistic because we have the capacity (technology and money) to solve the problem. What we are lacking is a sense of urgency and a globally unified strategy.

Other key points he made:
  1. Optimism is not only about belief but also about behavior.
  2. Solve democracy crisis before solving the climate crisis.
  3. Don't just change the bulb; change the law.
  4. The solution: put a price on carbon.
