Should Whales Be Culled to Increase Fishery Yield?

An inspiring piece from the latest Science which highlights the trade off among different ecosystem services (food vs cultural) and the role of uncertainty in environmental management.

So even it is true that whales consume several times as much food as the combined global fisheries catch in recent years (estimated by Japanese scientists), does that justify whale-killing?

I don't think so.
