Pavan Sukhdev on putting nature on the balance sheet
The TEEB study leader was in town today and gave a talk in ANU Crawford school. As somebody who did her PHD on ecosystem services valuation and has been following the progress in the field, I have to admit he didn't have much new for me except for a table, which breaks down biodiversity by levels (gene, species and ecosystem) and by dimensions (quality and quantity) and march each level with corresponding ecosystem services (I didn't find the Table on the TEEB site though). That being said, I did enjoy his talk, mostly because he is a great speaker.
